On Friday night, Sean Hannity offered rare praise for CNN anchor Jake Tapper over his analysis of the recent indictments made by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

In reaction to the Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein‘s announcement of 12 Russian intel officers being charged for hacking the DNC, the DCCC, and John Podesta‘s emails, Tapper took aim at the Obama administration for being “asleep at the switch.”

“You read this indictment and you think, ‘Boy, the Obama administration- they really kinda missed the ball on this one,” Tapper said. “I mean, yes, they issued that report, but President Obama said… he told Putin to cut it out or knock it off, it wasn’t particularly strong, and then there was all this hesitation about warning the American people for fear of looking partisan. In retrospect, doesn’t it seem to you that the Obama administration was at least to a degree asleep at the switch?”

Well, one Fox News host in particular was impressed.

“Credit to Jake Tapper because he called out Obama because this all happened on his watch. He was the one asleep at the wheel,” Hannity said. “Of course, that’s right.”

Hannity went on to insist that we “have all known about Russian efforts to conduct election sabotage and chaos for years,” pointing to a 2014 warning made by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA). He also asked “how many countries” hacked into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton‘s private server, suggesting China, Iran, and North Korea could also be suspects.
