Rush Limbaugh went up to bat for President Donald Trump on Friday by tearing into the media’s “phony supremacy” and the outrage over the president’s remarks about “sh*thole countries.”

Limbaugh started off his show by delighting in the fact that Trump went back towards his hard line on immigration. The conservative host reasoned that not only will this dismiss questions about Trump making a DACA deal with Democrats, but it will also supposedly screw over their hopes of bringing in poor, unskilled individuals to serve as a new voter base.

“[Trump’s] question to them was ‘Why in the world do you look at this issue as something that is not helpful to this country? It’s only helpful to you.’ And so, the whole DACA deal was blown sky-high now, which is a good thing. And the whole idea we’re going to get comprehensive immigration reforms some day soon, meaning amnesty for everybody, is blown to smithereens now.”

He revisited this subject at various points of his show:

“I don’t make a deal with these people, I want to defeat these people i don’t want to compromise with these people because these people are simply looking for ways to bloat the federal voter registration roles in various states.”

Limbaugh moved on to slam Trump critics for working themselves up into a frenzy and using this controversy as the latest bit of evidence that the president is racist. Limbaugh said it all amounts to “moral preening” from a “drive-by media” eager to project their “phony supremacy” onto the American people.

“They offend me far more than Donald Trump does,” Limbaugh said. “These people in the media are a bunch of the biggest phony balonies on this planet, acting like they don’t talk this way. They think this what about Mississippi, they think this way about the American South, they think this way about flyover country…I can’t stand this phony supremacy and superiority that these people projected as though anybody who does think or talk that way is somehow subhuman, a reprobate or other things.”

Limbaugh continued to mock panicking Democrats while saying that Trump was right to call attention to the problems that cause migrants to leave their homelands. He particularly mocked Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) for saying that the reports about Trump’s “sh*thole” comments were accurate.

“Are you kidding!?” Limbaurgh bellowed. “These people are phony baloney, good-time, rock-n-rollers.”

Limbaugh made a point of not saying the word “shithole,” but he did take a shot at the press for reading Trump’s quote on broadcast so many times over the past 24 hours. As for whether that word was a proper thing for the president to say, well, that question was left a bit more open-ended.
