Attorney General Jeff Sessions said on Tuesday that he stands by his prior testimony on having had no knowledge of any Trump campaign contact with Russians.

In the testy exchange with Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Texas) during a House Judiciary Committee hearing, the representative from Texas asked Sessions if he wished to change his prior statements made to the Senate Intelligence Committee. The attorney general said he stood by his prior statement that he had no knowledge of any contact by the Trump campaign with any Russians concerning interference with the campaign or U.S. election.

House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R., Va.) was forced to intervene to allow Sessions to answer as Jackson Lee talked over him.

“I would just say this: I stand by this testimony at the Intelligence Committee,” Sessions said. “I have never met with or had any conversation with any Russians or any foreign officials concerning any type of interference with the campaign or election in the United States. Further, I have no knowledge of any such conversations by anyone connected to the Trump campaign.”
